FAQs

I would like to bring my trailer to camp at Mantago Bay, but in one year it will be past the 15 year age limit. Will I have to replace it with a newer trailer?

No you will not have to replace the trailer! Once your trailer is on your lot and entered into the rental agreement it is ‘grandfathered’ in, meaning you will not have to remove it once it is past the 15 years. However, if you decide to sell your belongings on the lot and your trailer is older than 15 years you will have to sell it on the condition the trailer is removed, or remove it yourself and sell what remains.

Do you have water hook-ups?

We do not offer direct water hook-ups currently. You are responsible for your own water. Most of our current campers have 250 gallon tanks that they have filled at the beginning of the year by a water truck and then top up their water from home.

What are our options for sewage?

We do offer two central dumping stations, plenty of our campgrounds have the carts that hook up to a hitch to empty their trailer. You are also more than welcome to have a Port-A-Potty on your lot or an above ground sewage tank. We have a local truck come to pump out trailers/outhouses/tanks for a fee that you can contact!

I have friends coming for the weekend, can they set up camp in my lot?

If they are tenting, most definitely! They will still have to pay our nightly fee ($20/night) and register at the office but as long as all tents/vehicles fit on your lot it is allowed. Unfortunately we do discourage having trailers double up in lots. We always give our seasonal campers first priority if they have friends wanting to camp with us for a weekend and do our best to fit them in so please contact us if you wish to reserve a site.

There’s so much green space along the beach, can I set up a spot for just my family to use?

You are more than welcome to use the green space daily, we encourage people to make use of every inch since it is a public area. However, if you decide to keep belongings along the shore such as a bench or table, it does become public use. The entire beach and green space is for everyone to use, nobody ‘owns’ a section of the beachfront.

I have two vehicles, a boat, a quad, etc… do you have parking/storage?

If your belongings don’t fit in your lot we unfortunately don’t have addition parking/storage. We do have campers who rent double lots for parking and guests.

My dog is my favorite family member, is he welcome?

Absolutely! All pets are welcome. They must be leashed, under your control and picked up after at all times.

Is there a waitlist for seasonal rentals?

We are currently low on campsites so we will be starting a waitlist once we are full. Please contact us if you’d like to be added to it. We are in the process of building more however we cannot guarantee when they will be available.

When can we come view the campground and choose our lot?

We typically have people come to view beginning in March. We don’t plow our roads in the winter so we do need to wait until it has melted off a bit before showing lots. When you do decide to come visit us please keep in mind we are typically two weeks behind Winnipeg weather wise so dress warmer and expect more snow! Also please ensure you contact us before coming so we are available to show you the lots for rent.
